New to the club. I have ideas and am starting to put together a 1000 gallon system (fish tank). I plan to use DWC and Media. Can anyone give me direction as to food grade liners and ratio of GB to FT? Israel from Oregon |

Welcome to the forum Israel. I'm not sure about food grade but the two liners that get used the most are EPDM pond liner and Dura-Skrim is the other. What's really important is whether there is adequate filtration for the fish. Having said that the answer to the ratio question that you'll get is typically 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 for Fish tank volume to media type grow bed volume. You'll want to pre-filter any water going to the DWC through either a media bed or some other type of filtration to remove settleable and suspended solids. Depending on how you do this and the nutrient level, you may need to remineralize the solids into nutrients the plants can use. |
