:cheers: victory... after 2 days of major tinkering my sytem is up and running.
I have dechlorinated the water and have been curculating for about a week plant free. Now I have added plants in the growbed, waiting for the water to clear up a bit. I am looking for an affordable heater to add to the fishtank. I am planning a well planted tank and a betta fish.
Fishtank holds about 15 gallons 33+liters
About 20 gallons running through the growbank and resiviour.
Pumps a liter a minuate.
Areation in shallow and deep tank
Gravel and sponge and cheesecloth as filter.
Excited but what did I miss?
(Test kit arrives in a week)

Sounds like a neat little system! You might want to rethink your fish choice though, bettas are awesome but one betta fish won't give you enough nutrients to feed more than about one plant.

No matter that Beta's fight each other, there is a way to raise more than one in that 15 gal FT.

What is the length and width of the top of the tank?

We've done this before, for a elementary school project, we raised 8 Beta's in one tank.

I was thinking about adding a mystery snail and or a few feederfish.... Possibly a breeding pair of guppies? I have space for them
