Hello,
I'm a Spanish architecture student about to graduate. It just so happens that my diploma project is supposed to be a kind of fishery in the "parque natural de la bahía de Cádiz" salt marsh system in south western Spain. It's up to me to accurately define what is it going to be grown there and how. I'm expected to pay attention to ecological constraints, society needs, no budget, and make it pretty. Just a thought experiment.

The "parque natural de la bahía de Cádiz" was formerly a salt pond system, giving jobs to thousands but it eventually declined and became a set of fish farms that would capture juvenile fish from the wild coming with the tide, and capture them once the season was over.

I'll be keeping you posted, and I'll be asking specifics.

Pleased to meet you all!

Fuintur

Welcome to the forum Fuintur :headbang: . That sounds like a really neat project, all except the no budget part. Rose petals are nice but it's always better when the throw money at your feet :D

Hi Fuintur

I think I have read about some large reclaimed swamp area in Spain or down that way.
Where fish farming in old agriculture areas has become sustainable and massive bird sanctuary ?
I thought it was some form of World Environmental success story ??
Cannot recall where - is that similar situation.
