Post subject:  Hello From New Hampshire!

Hi everyone, I've got my family intersted in aquaponics by setting up a small CHOP system in our living room. We have a growbed placed in front of a south facing window, and it's suspended above the sump. The 29 gallon aquarium tank sits to the side and has goldfish in it. So far the system has been working really well.
I posted a video on YouTube when it was first completed. See it here: https://youtu.be/SWJ8LX-vOGU

Since then some things have changed, such as going from stone media in the grow bed to a floating raft DWC. Now I'm removing the raft and placing the net pots into a painted plywood raft holder suspended above the water. We'll see how things work out.

That's just the start of things to come because we've begun building a passive solar greenhouse that will hold a much larger aquaponic system. I can't wait to get going once all this snow melts!

Welcome Brian!

My wife is originally from New Hampshire and we hope to move back up to that area one day in the future.

I like your setup - very clean and well thought out. If you don't mind a few comments - I noticed two minor issues: 1. the clear tubes will start to grow algae once the the nutrient levels build up enough so I would switch to something that doesn't allow light in. 2. The copper fittings/valves can end up killing your fish as the water goes more acidic over time - copper can be deadly to fish so we try to keep that out of our systems as much as possible.

I have a similar setup in my basement... If you are interested in chatting about your system - feel free to give me a call 571-989-2884.

Good luck with your new system and greenhouse!!
