Started out with a koi fish pond.
Image

Then moved to going humm, I wonder if I can grow food we eat?

Image
And started with some basil and tomatoes.

Then got into airlift pump.

And some more buckets we have cats so always have cat litter buckets.
Image

And then that worked in concept with one bucket, so added more.

And tried corn and such.

Image

And more buckets since once a CHOP system is going you can just expand it.

Image

I kept taking advantage of the water.

Image

And we like herbs. And this seemed to work.

And it is growing more.

We are going,to get an IBC tote converted and added to the system.
We have an IBC tote, but it just captures water right now from the roof.

Pumps are for volume for the 1700 gal pond, but airlift for the aquaponics. And I am going to be adding a NFT like system to take advantage of the water more since I just put in to posts.

Airlift pump, using just air to pump more then 300 gal per hour 7 feet into the air.

Dreaming of camping or aquaponics and the pond.

Yeah it was a slippery slope from the koi pond. But the wife likes the food plants.

Leaks have been a staple all summer.
Green onions were popular.
Chives were tasteless, but growing good.

We are about to make mint Julips, non alcohol.
No tomatoes this year but we had them last year and we will have them next year. The water fall for the filter was too full of water Hyacinth this year.

We got a bunch of strawberries in, and I'm hoping they will have fruit this next season. I have flowers on the strawberries so crossing my fingers.

Trying to go Talapia in the IBC and spinach and kale again, if only for the filtering.

Can't seem to get lettuce to grow.
