Post subject:  EasleyAquaponics - Introduction

My wife and I are new to aquaponics and are in process of building a system based on IBC totes - I want to automate it as much as possible connecting it via wi-fi, Iot-like at some point. Both retired now, we live in a home that my father build here in Easley, South Carolina U.S.A. It was a decommissioned school property that had partial burned down.

I am an old programmer, having started back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I was given an Arduino starter kit some time ago and just recently decided on this aquaponics project to make good use of it. I am not much of an electronics engineer though. And both the wife and I are new to growing our own food.

I am interested in adding some of the most common water sensors, automating fish feeding and some flow controls. I plan nodeJS server through which to interface monitoring data via a simple web page access. For system alerts and alarms, I hope to use text messaging.

As a new member to BYAP, it was suggested that I start a “Build” thread. As I add that, I will also add a link to it here.
