I've been hanging around here for about a month now, gathering information from all of you, and thought it was time I introduced myself now that I've started doing something about building our system. A bit of background. As part of my BSc in zoology, one of my elective subjects was aquaculture. They only really covered aquaponics briefly, but the idea fascinated me, especially since I'd read about it in Bill Mollinson's permaculture book. I'm planning on a CHIFT PIST system, with two grow-beds and Jade Perch in the tank. The tank will be under our back verandah, so hopefully no problems with algae. Here's a pic of the proposed location.
