I live on a hillside property which is on the well & I have 100+ trees. I live Arizona & always afraid if my well fails & be without water for my irrigation. I have made a 10k gallon swimming hole to use as natural swimming pool & use as my reserve for my irrigation. Would anyone be able to tell me roughly how long my water stays clear if I use 1000 gallon per week for irrigation & replace it with new water. thanks. |

I don't think anyone can tell you this without a lot of information. Basically the fewer nutrients that are in the water the longer the water will stay clear. So it would be good to keep leaves and other debris out of your tank. If you're planning on using this for aquaponics then you'll have lots of nutrients in the tank unless you grow lots of plants to use the nutrients and might have problems keeping the water clear. I could see using the water as a backup supply but you'd have to filter and treat it somehow and I'm not sure what to tell you on that. You may have a County Sanitarian that could advise you or at least point you to someone that could. If you're thinking of using it for AP it would be best to figure these things out in advance. Hope this helps |
