Hello
I'm Wildbill from Tallahassee fl.I am picking up 2 Ibc totes today to start a build I am a beginner and could use any suggestions out there on where to get supplies in or near my area and I want to learn the right way and not make mistakes others have made I am open minded and exited to get started

My advice is be very patient with cycling. It takes a long time for the water chemistry to sort itself out and while there are a few things you can do, it just takes time.

the main mistakes I have made are all in the same domain...

Overstocking
feeding fish too much
not enough growbed wet media volume (or other forms of filtration) for my fish and feeding rate

Rule of thumb is 20-30 L of wet media volume per fish you plan to grow to plate size. It's easy to get excited about the fish in aquaponics but it doesn't take many fish to grow a lot of salad greens and some other veggies.

Suggest reading the IBC of aquaponics linked at top of page if you haven't already.
