Hi, I'm currently on my 8th aquaponics system outside. I also have two smaller systems inside. The ones before were touch and go. Learning as I went. But this one is a chop system with worm bed, 2 large fish tanks,3 small fish tanks, one floating raft bed, one hydroton filled bed, and a NFT pipe system as well. With future plans of adding a overhead NFT rafter green house to the system by this summer. I'm raising goldfish, prawns, snails, mollys, guppies, tetras, and blue gill. The plants I have growing are 9 different kinds of lettuce(just started them),ghost peppers, scorpion peppers, chili piquin peppers, garlic, onions, broccoli, pumpkin, blue watermelon, loofah, lavender, dragon fruit, avocado, pineapple, black beans, and some Ivys.

Hi AMP,

I don't know if I'll ever move back to Texas, but I grew up 100+ miles to the south of Corpus, and I've wondered about why no significant aquaculture facilities in south Texas? Maybe they are there and I just didn't know about them? Have you found the heat to be a no-go for raising food fish? Have you tried Tilapia in the past and they didn't work out?

Please send some pics of your systems. It should be interesting to see how things have evolved over 8 revisions.

Thanks,

Sam
