I have built a basic system which is from a natural stream that i have accessed. I have 90 fish in 6000 litres and the stream runs at 100 litres pm.

I have only played with it as I simply have to turn on the stream, flood the grow beds and stop dirty drain back to fish.
However I realise that not many customers will have access to a fresh water stream.

I am ideally looking for a hobbyist who is wanting to take their skills in fish and growing food up to a business opportunity. I would also consider partnerships with existing Aquaponic installers in the UK.

All the soft and hard landscaping including the pond build i can confidently do. However I am not going to pretend to be an expert in Aquaponics and want to delegate/subcontract to someone with proven success and knowledge, who I would work with

So hey. Any one in the UK (i can work out of Newcastle Manchester and London and would love to market aquaponics and grow your own food market as it will compliment my existing business and add value.

Couple of points to consider;
Access to and legal rights to the stream and or the water may be different things.
CEFAS registration ( required for UK fisheries) has strict criteria on water discharge.
I have a well on my property.
Without a water extraction license I am allowed to extract up to 24,000 liters per day.
100 liters per minute? You do the maths.
You will need greenhouse, poly tunnel construction to grow any meaningful crops.
A flow through system. Common for trout and or watercress would require a good reliable source of suitable water. have you done any water quality checks?

I am going to post some pictures. tried but too big and do not have a photo editor on this Laptop.
Essentially i have diverted a stream. I have no need for filters for the fish and the system is quite basic.
Pump from low stream/well into a surface pond .
Then sump pump (150lpm) and extract into growbeds and or drain/patio wash down.

I have wrapped the sump pump in mesh as to protect the fish.
Yes I have had the water tested. I bought a kit from a laboratory and it came back as stream water.
Initially had it tested for fish at a specialist aquatics centre and it came back clear

The fish are active and healthy which i put down to the intake of stream water.

In my humble opinion I think much of the content of this forum is overcomplicated. I think it may hinder basic aquaponic systems.

I just want some fishy water for my crops.

I see the nutrient rich fish water simply as a bonus for crops. Essentially a more effective allotment.
I aint worrying about polytunnels, especially after this winters experience,
I am a qualified electrician and have solar set up to run 2 400 watt lamps and a 2kw heater if very cold. This heats water and keeps frost of crops

It is such a simple system and I have built it at a very low cost considering the scale and capacity
However I am lucky i have access to fresh stream water but believe recycling water through a medium is not as good as constant fresh water.

Check for; liver fluke. Before you let any children or old people eat any of the produce.
