Post subject:  Hello from the Dandenong Ranges

Hi,

I live at the foot of the hills in Upwey, Victoria, AUS.
On the south side of the mountain.

My major chalenges are a very steep slope and limited sunshine, the available sunshine is viable within my yard as there is some good spots. Most of the area is huge gum trees (mountain ash), bird life is amazing.

I am starting my first AP build in 2016.
I have been making vertical grow towers and auto siphons now, I have a number of maggot (black soldier fly and blow fly) and worm farms recently completed. They will produce maggots for the chickens until I get the AP online.
I have ordered electronic parts for the monitoring system.
The plan is to have some portion of the system online mid 2016, and fully opperational by the start of 2017.

I plan to grow murray cod and silver perch, yabbies as well.
I would like to explore eels and mussels as well, but this is the more advanced plan for much much later.
I will have a duck weed grow tank as well.

We recently ordered a HoneyFlow beehive, which is very exciting, it will arrive in March 2016.

My goal is to be as sustainable as possible.

I am exploring Solar and Wind power potential and batteries to keep the system running and off grid.

I have been an aquariest for more than 20 years (used plants as part of the filtration since the beggining, I am lazy with maintenance and water changes), and an avid gardener for even longer (thanks to my Oma), it was only a matter of time before I combined these skills at scale.

Big plans... It is all about the journey rather than the destination. :)

Thanks for reading. And for those that respond to my posts in other threads, thanks for the input.

Good luck with all that and welcome to the forum.

I have HoneyFlow and about to check this weekend to see if the bees filled it in.
