Backyard Aquaponics
A place to discuss aquaponics

Been lurking around the forum for a few weeks now (reading several long and interesting threads) and decided it was time to sign up.

I hope to learn much more about aquaponics (i'll need to if i'm to have any / much success... ), and i'm sure i will need some help with questions i'll encounter while getting set up.

Plans are to start small (in an 8 x 15 greenhouse - to avoid having to get a permit) and, if successful, duplicate my initial setup into a 2nd greenhouse (run off the original sump and fish tank; and hopefully use only a single pump.)

I have a layout i mind (derived somewhat from DecalsbyJTs build) which i'll upload at a later point in time (when i remember to bring it home from work ).

I commend you for lurking and reading as you glean SOOO much information, and avoid the ignore tag, of those who appear and say.. "So I have an IBC - what do I do now"

There is not that much to getting it all up and working.. A good understanding of gravity and flow, helps heaps, to avoid disasters..

It is particularly good that you are planning your first with the second in mind.. WE ALL have a second, and third and and and then the tinkering

and PS.. PLAN the second one NOW, so that you can incorporate all the plumbing in the first
