Hello Everyone,

I have been checking out this forum for a while but just decided to join in. I am sure I'll have some questions soon.

I have a 40 gallon FT with 2 gold fish and a 18 gallon GB (28 x 20 x 11 inches) it is a fill and drain system with a auto syphon. I have some wheat grass growing, lettuces, trying to grow some cucumbers and had some old watermelon plants (which as pretty small) that are still alive from an issue I had.

I have it inside my office and have a 48 watt cheap LED light I bought from amazon. I also have a small light filling in the area to the right (the light is not in the photo).

I have attached an older image of my system. I have had my system running for about a 1.5 months and about 2 weeks ago I killed everything (including one fish) by screwing up the nitrogen system with some UV germicide lamps (also flash burned my eyes). I replanted and everything is looking good. My ammonia (close to 0 PPM), nitrite (close to 0 PPM), nitrate (20-40 PPM) is all looking great, as far as I can tell.

I am having a few issues but will bring those up later.

Hope everyone is doing great!
