Hey y'all. I am new to the entire aquaponics world and trying to learn as much as possible to put a system in place. The mass amounts of information is mind blowing, but I am learning a good bit. A little about me: I (we) have a mini farm consisting of (at the moment) 70ish chickens, 6 ducks, 4 dogs, 2 Belfair miniature cows, 150 gallon trough of goldfish/koi/minnows, 2 bee hives and a cat. I am in the process of installing a garden pond as a water source for the bees and decided to work an aquaponics system into the mix. Primarily to grow greens for the chickens, but also veggies for the girlfriend and I. I am trying to research to decide the best set up (ie. flood and drain vs continuous flow). I know I want to do some type of hybrid w/ both a media bed and raft system. But, I am having a hard time getting my mind around the workings of some of this stuff. So, be patient and be prepared to answer already answered questions |
