Hello everyone,
My name is Nick Lee, and I live in north Alabama. I have started construction on my greenhouse and hope to have it finished within the next week or so. The greenhouse will be where my aquaponic system will be. It will have a 330 gallon fish tank, two 4'x8'x12" gravel filled grow beds, two 4'x8'x12" floating raft beds, a solids filter made from a 60 gallon olive barrel, and two sump tanks (one under each grow bed, the sumps will be plumed together so that it only has to pump from one or the other). I have a background in industrial maintenance and automation so there will probably be automation of some kind built in with it. I have been lurking around for quite some time and became a member a few weeks ago, I have made a couple of post and gotten great advice so far. I look forward to exchanging information with all of you. If you have any questions about integrating PLCs into a system I could probably help with that, I do it everyday at work.

Thanks for reading,
Nick

Hi Nick, I live in Huntsville and am just getting started. Any sources for Grow Bed media around here?

Hi Nick,

How is your system progressing? That's an interesting idea of joining the sumps. I can see the advantage of running one pump, but think I'll probably stick with separate pumps. I am building a greenhouse to expand my systems for next southern winter (was aiming for last winter but didn't happen, but thats another story) and intend having 2 parallel systems, one each side in the GH, plus the current one outside.
Hmm, you've got my wondering about joined sumps now.
Cheers and hope you post an update.
