Hello there! I'm fascinated by the idea of aquaponics. My mother introduced me to the concept while explaining some of her work to me, and I've been looking into the idea ever since. I'm currently in the process of finding a location to build a home and would like to incorporate aquaponics into the structure. I'm not currently pursuing an aquaponics system, but I felt that now was the time to learn. I plan to build a rather large system (after plenty of tinkering and designs.) I've been lurking on the forums for quite a few months now, and felt like I should pop my head in and to say hi. I've seen a lot of very valuable information here, and I can tell I will like this community. As my knowledge builds, I look forward to giving back and helping others. Thanks!-LechugaMeGusta |

Hi welcome.. As with almost everything in life. Experience is the best teacher. There is a lot of information online, and self-education is a very good thing. But it will never subdue experience. First off get your hands dirty (or wet!) before you jump into something big. Aquaponics is a very nice hobby/pasttime or occupation, most people just want to jump in real quick and go wild and go big. Learn small and scale up from there. Even a little kitchen aquarium can teach you some good tips on how to handle the bigger picture. Post your designs, your plans or your dreams and see what others have to say about it. |
