Hi all, I have been gardening for 5 years, & started raising chickens this year, Aquaponics has not been on my radar because living up here in NH our winters can be brutal, I am already fighting to keep the hens' water liquid. I can't imagine trying to keep a fish tank thawed all winter. I will post this on a subject specific board also.

Hi from Australia... from one who can't comprehend living with SNOW and ice...

From what I imagine, , the cost of heating would kill all benefits of AP...

So could you leave the fish out, and thus have less water to heat.. ie... go for a. More "hydroponic" system,
Ummm... Pee-Ponics...
..
