Hey mate.. Newbie here too.. I have a system at approx 6 weeks old, was made from an IBC pod ( just the top part ), a cheap as chips pond pump and a few $'s worth of 10mm gravel. IBC cost me $20.00 from local dump , pump and gravel around the same each. I see a lot of Blue Barrel's about, reckon it would be just as easy to set up. I highly recommend biting the bit and hook in :D I have been totally blown away by the plant growth rates, mind boggling it is. I can foresee our whole entertainment area being converted to grow tables, so long as I has enough room for the BBQ to work without toasting me plants, the rest of the area is fair game for it, once I have it sealed in with shade cloth etc. ( we seem to have serious bug and mould issues here, kills everything outside)I Hope to have enough of a set up by mid next year to feed a growing family of three Teenage Boys wifey and self, couple of neighborhood pensioners who I know do it tough to eat right. Concrete area just sits there doing nothing anyway :) My only real problem.. building a wooden frame to hold it all, seems only thing I can do right with timber is burn it  All the best with your journey into this wild world of food growing mate.

Scotty,
I have often wondered what type of system you have? Seeing I don't believe that I have ran across your build thread. (sorry for the Hijack)
