I suppose I should introduce myself since I've been lurking around here for a few months. But first I want to thank everyone on this forum for the wealth of information available.

Okay, I put together a small system in July or August of this year. It consists of 4 half blue barrel GBs, a 100 gallon FT and 2 sumps with a combined capacity of 90 gallons. It is a Chift Pist system on a timer running 15 minutes on and 30 minutes off. I initially planted turnip greens, a variety of peas, cucumbers, lettuce, broccoli, kale and tomatoes. I have harvested all of the turnip greens, some of the cucumbers, a few peas and some of the lettuce. I have several tomatoes that will be harvested in the next week or so. At the moment I’m using gold fish but I plan on replacing them with channel catfish or bluegill. The system was relatively easy to get up and running with only one total goldfish kill – I did not de-chlorinate the water before adding the poor creatures. I will take some pictures of the system this weekend and post on the forum.

Anyway, thanks again to all of the posters on this forum who provided the information I used to build my system.

Hello Wildstang
Chatting from north Dallas Texas.
I am assembling my first two barrel system. Since is it that small I am planning the Ebb and Flow system, with the fish barrel under the two half barrels of plant media. Even just a while ago I was framing the half barrels so the did not slide and move.
Later.

What part of Texas you from? I'm from San antonio!

I'm going to be raisin bluegill and catfish together you can try that...
They don't eat each other or anything just put them in the tank at the same time so they live in harmony.

Add them at different times then your going to have some fish gang turf wars in your tank! Haha might be cool to watch though.
