Hello Aquaponic Peoples! I am new to the Forum and Aquaponics. I am in the process of building a small system out of a 55 gallon plastic container and reaching what I have heard and read is the most difficult part, the BELL SIPHON  I will check around the board index for information and tips/tricks but if anybody would like to chime in here I will check back soon.

Thanks for the anything that may be shard and that I may learn from you guys.

Welcome Kekoa,

You could always run the system as Constant Flood and then you wouldn't need the siphon :thumbright:

If you post some pictures of your system it will greatly help when asking for advice.
Welcome to the madness that is AP! :headbang:

Aloha Braddah! Good to hear from someone from Hawaii all the way out here, LOL. I will try and get some pictures up soon for you guys to check out what I got going. It is small since I am in the learning phase of the "AP Madness". I have big dreams for down the road thug…we will have to see how things pan out.

I posed these questions in the general discussion area but will ask here too. My ph is at 7.6 now, I am in the second day of my cycling the system. Should I lower the ph with ph down or let the cycle run its course first. Also, can I add water the to tank to cover evaporation during the cycling process or will that screw things up? As they say no question is a bad huh.

Mahalos for the help.

Leave the PH to sort itself out. Don't try to manipulate it. Give it a few weeks to find its own level. If you have to use tap water to top off you can fill up a 5 gal bucket or so and let it sit out to gas off the chlorine for a day or so before you add it. If you have a filter that removes chlorine, that would be even better. Best of luck! :thumbleft:
