I hope we are as good a fit as I think we'll be. This site has been an inspiration for me. I've been doing some research, but mostly my style is hands on: Here is a search of my site for "earth-sheltered greenhouse" https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=outfitnm.com+earth-sheltered+greenhouse which is rapidly morphing into aquaponics and aquaculture. http://outfitnm.com/2014/06/bmn-jacked-up-in-life/
I'll be posting progress reports as I have been a quasi sustainable lifestyle chronicler since 1999 with my morning newsletter
here is a picture of the beginnings of my fish pond

That was about a month ago and yes that is limestone we're busting through with hand tools
I'm very close to the point where I can begin doing one of my favorite pastimes; rock work. I thought I better get in here and start reading what the best shapes are for fish, trout, perch I hadn't picked a fish yet, I realize you'll need a lot more information to suggest anything.
Earth-sheltering should maintain a steady pond temperature in our Winters where it can reach 20 below. I'm trying to find pages on my site to explain what I'm talking about as I have written about earth-sheltering on many occasions: Here is one http://outfitnm.com/2014/01/bmn-hobbit-holes/
Anywho my pond will be below grade and I think I want an island, oh and it is in a 12 foot by 12 foot greenhouse, yet to be constructed. I have decided to dedicate most of the floor space to fish pond. I'm thinking I'll circulate the water and emulsion around the island and have sludge traps where the water takes it. The pond will be neoprene lined with local rocks around the top for aesthetics
Anyway this is me, glad to meet ya
