Just starting to build a new system. would like to see a up and running system somewhere close by here in north east tasmania. I can do it all from reading but it would be nice to have a look at a working system. Thanks johna |

Thanks johna Sorry I live nowhere near there, actually I am happy as that I live here, This is my new first basic system, http://youtu.be/KIxnsQLk3_s I hope this gives you some more ideas as to how far you can go with little or no experience, I started on the 13/06/14 at 6pm, that’s when my IBCs arrived, But I must advise you that aquaponics is highly addictive, normal life as you know it will be engulfed with visions and ideas of a better system idea, Good luck with your first build, |

Thanks for the replys. The type of fish to use seems to be a problem here. Perch and blackfish would be the ideal fish to use but we are not alowed to use them govmnt bull----. We have a new state govement now and there moto is Tasmania is open for buisness. I think if we could get enough of us together to loby them maybe. After all i can catch perch and blackfish in any river around my way they are everywhere. its not like you can contaminate the waterways. johna |

Johna, You have to realize that "Government is Government, Is Government" Whatever country. The only thing they care about is keeping absolute control and collecting there taxes. If you want to make something that will feed your family and give you a feeling of success then you must learn to be quiet about it...... The person that I bought my starter minnows from told me that 2 weeks after I came, the FGD department showed up and poisoned his pool. Not only did this kill all his fish, but it was his irrigation pond. He wanted the fish to give ammonia to his farm. Now he is not allowed to water his crops for tree years, then after many inspection for water quality. all because he did something that gave him much good; but did not pay his fees. Sorry; I am angry for my friend....Daucie |

There has been quite a few on this forum from Tasmania. but they seem to be old threads, so i am thinking that they have just gone underground. probably the only way to go. you just cant crow about it. One thing that i do realise about you americans you dont trust govenments, I wish Australians would wake up to it to. |
