Hello from Big Lake, Alaska USA

Just learned about the concept of aquaponics from my cousin in the midwest USA... WOW!!!

Would like to find some specific information about aquaponics in cold-weather locations. What I see from folks in Australia is fascinating, but with our temperature ranges of -50 F to +80 F, there are some complications.

Looking forward to learning more!

Welcome. I can't comment about cold weather as I live in the tropics but from other members systems I've read the main issue is freezing of your water during winter. All the best and hope you can sort something out that works :-)

Likely need some sort of heating.

Even here in Australia, i like to keep my water at 23C so i have a 1000W aquarium heater in my 900L tank, which is also then in a greenhouse.

Welcome! the people here are incredibly friendly and helpful. i am sure you will get some decent answers.

interested to see how it works for you up there I personnally live in arkansas sooo a little bit differant climate.lol
but would imagine a double walled poly tunnel would be the most economical choice for a green house and with artifical lighting you'll be able to grow all year round.Good luck
