Greetings from Oskaloosa, Iowa, smack dab in the middle of farm country - corn and soybean fields as far as the eye can see, along with the requisite wildlife - deer, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, stray cats...

Grape orchards in a few locations near town - several wineries, although I don't drink their products

Got turned on to aquaponics by a co-worker and am looking to build a system in my basement - as soon as I move my workshop out to my garage. I have an old chest freezer that no longer works; thought it might work well as a fish tank. Access to 55-gallon poly drums is not difficult. Thinking about miniature fruit trees and vegetable gardening. Space available is about 4m x 6m. Hope I'm not getting in over my head...

Lighting fruit trees indoors might be expensive for the fruit you get out of it. Meaning you'll be lighting them for years before you'll get anything back from it. But up to you.
