Hi everyone, started a setup a few weeks ago that I picked up 2nd hand 1500L tank and 500GB. I have 15 trout didn't want to overload to start with. I have planted strawberries as constant species and tomatoes, lettuce, snow peas and baby spinach. All plants going great especially snow peas. Only problem so far I didn't wash medium and water really brown? But fish seem happy.

Hello

Good call on the initial stocking. Better safe than sorry. Make sure you are turning over your water every hour at a minimum but as long as the cloudiness is just residue from the media it should clear without issue.

Welcome to the forum! We love pics...

Hiya DKT, welcome to the forum.
IMO always best to wash media but it will clear in time.
Good to see conservative stocking rates although you are spoiling it for yourself by starting with the most fun fish...
Keep an eye on the water parameters as your system is new and will not be cycled yet.
Get some pool salt ready too.

Cheers, I have also chucked some SP fingerlings in my front pond with the hope of putting them in to the AP setup once the trout are harvested. How long generally for the trout to reach size? I'm holding back on their food till the setup is run in. Thinking about getting some yabbies to chuck in the bottom aswell, anyone know where to get some locally in perth? Thanks for any info in advance
