Hello!

My name is Anthony and I am from South Florida. I have done a lot of traditional gardening while growing up, mostly inspired by my dad. I have known about aquaponics for a few years now. I found this website and forum a little over a year ago and it refueled the urge I had to get started with my own system and move from traditional gardening to the wonderful life of aquaponics. I began doing a lot of research and looking through a lot of the member posts and I really enjoy looking through pictures from your systems! :thumbright:

Finally, this summer I began to put everything into action and begin my first system. I also got around to making an account on the forums! :headbang: I don't have much to any experience on raising fish so that will be the largest learning experience for me. Also, parts of the construction process, which I am about half way through as of right now, will be new to me. (mostly the plumbing and piping)

My System: (pictures coming soon)
Fish "tank": 8'x8'x3' 1436 gallons (5436 liters)
Grow beds: I used 55 gallon barrels cut in half, I have 4 rows of 5 barrels each so 20 potential grow beds. With plans to expand in the future
Sump tank: none, after doing some research I found that it wasn't a necessity; and digging any size hole in the rocky South Florida ground is a mission and a half so I opted out. So I hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the butt.

I look forward to growing and learning with you all! I will be starting a "my system" post soon, hopefully later today! With lots of pictures!!!
