Hi y'all I've been reading this site for 6months now figured it was time to register. I know I'm going make a couple member mad with this . I'm setting up a barrel system to save and grow minnows (mostly fhm, creek chubs and emerald shiners) due to buying 3 dz for perch fishing and most of em being no more than 1in long. As such I want the pea green water and was wondering if I used a kiddie wading pool in the sun as a sump/nursery with a chit setup would it work and what plants might proliferate in such a system other than the algae? |

I was hoping you'd see this since your weather is pretty close to what I get. Will wheat grow in Ap? I've got about five pounds leftover from a brewing session awhile back. It germinate easily enough not really caring if it seeds since a gal I work with love the grass for her health food kick. Hmmm. 5g buckets. Are they part of the system or stand-alone and added when needed. |

little standalone,, they're in the basement under a 48" shop light (5 buckets), i brought them inside because i was getting too many mosquitos (good food for the minnows but i couldn't keep up).. when i need some greenwater, i use an old juice jug to get some out of the bucket, and put regular ft water back i'm sure wheat will grow - i had a "standalone" 30gallon formed yard pond that i was using for duckweed, i through a couple minnows and crayfish in it, and there was still 1 minnow and cray left after a year with no aeration.. right now i've got 6 aquarium tanks for crayfish and scuds, i just use sponge filters in them, with duckweed so i guess you could say they're standalone..lots of pics through my thread |
