Hello Backyard Aquaponics! I have been following this forum on and off for a couple of years and feel it is time to introduce myself! My name is Sam Fleming and I live in North Carolina, USA. I am one of 3 managing partners in a company called 100 Gardens. We have installed Aquaponics Labs in a juvenile prison and three high schools. We have also just returned from Haiti and will soon begin an instruction of an aquaponics training center that is tied to a Haitian High school of 1,800+ students. Thanks you for having us as apart in your discussion!

Some of our core beliefs are:
- Aquaponics is a great tool for hands-on education
- Aquaponics has a great potential, but is highly promoted as a solution for many problems, without consideration for different cultures, available materials, required education etc...
- We DO NOT take credit for inventing aquaponics or any variation of it. We pay credit to all who have figured out the science behind aquaponics, and we use that research to apply aquaponics in new, creative ways.
- We encourage all to become a part of the modern day "food movement" that takes the world to a more sustainable future.

We will be posting frequently to this forum to keep this community updated with what we are doing, as well as to learn from you all, and share ideas.

Awesome work guys. I am hoping that some day after I learn enough about AP, I'll be able to help less fortunate build and maintain their system. Our church has several missions that go out yearly to Africa, Haiti, Mexico, etc. Good luck!

Hey Ryan! Good to hear you're still around as well! I actually jammed with about 15 Haitian students. We played some blues, and rock, and reggae! Ill try and get some of the school systems up on the other parts of the forum.
