Hi there,

Total newbie here. Have done some research on the 'net and decided to give it a go with a micro AP system.

60L tank with 30L grow box - clay pebbles rinsed, water & pump installed and starting to age the system while I monitor the temperature of the water, to find the most suitable fish (decorative for now).

Figured if I can get a micro system to work, then I could move on comfortably to an IBC type system later.

I am confused - do you add in the fish first or the plants? Or are they added in on the same day? Also, do I need a filter for the fish tank?

Happy to receive advice and suggestions.

Cheers,
Kaz

Welcome

Add your plants and fish at the same time if you like, use a seaweed extract to assist your plants until the bacterial colony is established.

And your grow bed is your filter... biological filter.
