 Hello everyone. I come from an Agriculture backround (years ago in college ) and have recently found a deep interest in Aquaponics. I have a friend here in Illinois who has an old Cattle confinement building with the pit below a slotted concrete floor. It is presently used just for Misc. storage. With what i am seeing in some of your threads this might be an interesting building to try aquaponics in with sump and fish tanks down in pit and growing done on ground level. Would welcome any initial thoughts(positives and negatives) that might pop into your heads. As the climate here is quite cold in the winter, I have also thought a lean to/Walipini on the southern side of the building would expand growing area and help with temperature problems. Just in the brainstorming stages now but will keep you posted if I move forward.
