Post subject:  Greetings From Tampa, Florida USA

Hi all, Tim Here. :wave1:

I'm so grateful to have found this site. It has been an invaluable resource. I look forward to contributing.

I am NOT the type to garden. I hate dirt. I hate the outdoors. I hate drum circles. But what I hate most [recently] is the sad and dangerous state of food here in the US. :upset: This brought me to a point where I have decided that the only way to not slowly give myself cancer or worse is to grow my own.

Enter: Hydroponics then Aquaponics.

As of now, I am learning to walk before I run. My system is micro. I would say small, but all the threads I found here with the word small in them are still 100 gallons or more hehe. I have a 10 gallon tank and a ten gallon grow bed. I used bat guano to cycle the tank which worked great. I have 10 feeder gold fish and a couple crayfish in the tank now and they seem happy as can be. My plants are loving it as well.

Of course this is all an experimental stage and I have questions which I will post to the appropriate topics. However, If there are any threads here pertaining to a system my size that I missed, I would be awful swell if you could point me in their direction.

Cheers!
