This has to be one of the faster growing forums around!

I came across this forum while researching a scam marketing effort designed to separate would-be aquaponic gardeners from a small amount of money in exchange for a worthless pamphlet and video file. Glad I found you! Already got lots of good info about possibility of using crayfish.

Info on this newbie.... Back in the 60s I was getting pretty deep into organic gardening, beekeeping, and antique varieties of fruit trees. Had already bought a couple rolls of Kalwall Sun-Lite as glazing material for my solar greenhouse and -- based on recommendation of Stewart Brand's Whole Earth Catalog -- was planning to incorporate "Chinese Grass Fish" as a protein source.

All that got interrupted when I noticed that teaching didn't pay enough to raise a family. So, very little accomplished since 1974 although I have left a sort of horticultural trail behind me: berry bushes in Utah, a small orchard plus gooseberries and black currants a few miles from Wright Patterson, and two Himrod seedless grapes in Riyadh. Now, I'll be leaving behind dragonfruit and citrus here in Southern California as I relocate to north-central Florida, which is where the grandchildren are and where the greenhouse/ aquaponics setup will finally come together.

Am looking forward to getting a lot of good advice from those who are already doing it!
