Hi all, new guy from trinidad here, good to have info on ap though your experiences.

Havnt set up a system as yet but would soon, once i get a few more 'ingredients'.

Looking for all the trinis out there to help source some hydroton. Or what other local options are there?

Good you noticed about the pH, trini_rudeboi...
Lava rock should be available. I wondered about 'crushed coral'... but the pH thing washed that out.

Cruise the forum for options... the Plan!it is a hydroton alternative, but getting it in Trinidad?? I got no clue. I'm having a hard time locating it here... I hear that hydroponic stores carry it, so that may be my fall back. I can get lava rock-- but it is rough on fingers.

Thanks flipper!

Hey dancinhrblady, i dont think we have lava rock here, but we do have river rock and alot of gravel. But those are too heavy which is a big downside. I have managed to locate a supplier for the generic hydroton, but he said in abt a month it should reach.

I would upload pics of my system once i am confident enough it looks good enough

watch nah u don't need hydroton... thst too expensive... go to a hardware or gravel depot and buy 3/4 to 1 inch gravel they call it granapo wash I believe.. but it is the colorful glassy ones not the blue metal.. works great..
