Hello I am from Long Island NY and interested in setting up a commercial aquaponics farm out in Suffolk county where farms are not doing very well using traditional methods. It is something I hope to have started in the next 2 years. I look forward to hearing about other's experiences setting up and possibly meeting more people from my area's aquaponics community :flower:

Hi, funny, I just logged in to post the very same topic. I've been planning an operation in Canada for quite a while, but I'm not sure how much advice I can give... if you want to compare notes though, let me know.

My challenge these days is the question of going about this adventure using what I would call traditional techniques, or to take the time (and $$$) to experiment with new ideas (obviously taking into account everyone's experiences). I have a very cold climate to deal with and limited sunlight in the winters so energy costs are a huge concern.

Welcome Keri Anne....

Have you previously had some aquaponics experience... or are you jumping straight to a "commercial" system...??
