An aquaponics page on facebook posted IBCofaquaponics pdf so I downloaded it, read the whole thing and now Im here with like minded good folk. Tried hydroponics last year, what a flop, came to my sences since. Have one tote cut and a biofilter I designed. No water yet, slowly but surely the cycling will begin. Everything is scavenged and have no plans of purchasing anything. Fish are in the lake and wolffia in the creek. Must obtain fiter media and grow media. Up in the air over plants, leaning toward wild edibles or the three sisters approach. Good to meet yall, lol. Will post vids of my build when I figure out this site.

There are a few basics that need to be followed, or adhered to for success with hydroponics... don't follow them and you will have failures... just like there are a few basics that need to be followed, or adhered to for success in aquaponics... don't follow them and you will have failures... only this time there are living creatures involved.

Hi Yall, lol. Im in Greenville. I have a link to my youtube acc on my profile, can you see it?
Im chomping at the bit to get started. Looking at two different layouts for it and need some plumbing done. Really eager to start the cycling. yes Im already obsessed. Still looks like there is a lot more parts to get.

Does my website link to youtube work? Mr Damage, dont want to kill my fish. When I was learning hydro I never stuck to the tried and true and was always tinkering with it. I grew two tomato plants from a slice of tomato on a cheese burger. I named them cheese and pickle. Still have their seeds too.

Just this evening I decided to place the ft inside the shop to keep it cool and the gb will be outside on the south side of the building. My biofilter isnt needed for this small system but its going in the loop anyway.

I get that the grow bed will hold the bacteria culture. The idea I have in mind is to do most of that work in the bf. One reason behind this is I want to attach a gutter sys to the wall in the last vid. The gutters wont have grow media, so the bf has to do the conversion. Not sure how that addition needs to be plumbed though. With the bf in the loop already there wont be a need to cycle it later. Still up in the air on the elevations of all these tanks. I have one pump to work with. I will take a pic of all the components and post it tomorrow. May need some design advice soon. One thing I'd like to achieve is a constant level in the ft.

Need to do a gpm test and see how far up the pump will deliver. (note to self: learn all this nomenclature)
