Water spinach in right raft, lettuce kale mizuna red salad bowl romaine in left raft. amaranth cucumber mint & many herbs for kitchen herbs. fish using tilapia, i am vegetarian so the tilapia never eaten, they breed like crazy, i dont know how much are ther right now but i suspect about 300-400 fish. a couple of lobster in filter tank, and a pleco fish for each FT. My system is hybrid, so the water from ft go by grafity to each gb, then to filter tank then to raft. using 100watt pump & 80 watt air pump. the filtration is good enough, i have to wash the filter about once or two a year. my fish eat koi food pellet & duckweed & azola. but still i must add calsium pottasium magnesium fe & worm cast every weeks. still have problem with powdery mildew on tomatoes but other than that, the pest is few. except birds of course.

looking for aquaponic friends in Indonesia. i start from almost zero knowledge, learn from internet, teacher, blogs, organic farmer, but still have many problems. so need friends to discuss, many things are hard to find in indonesia, must buy the hydroponic pot from murray online, order pottasium bicarbonate from uk ebay (no one brew beer in indonesia so the chemical store doesn't provide them), order worms in another state, no one sell predator insect, live or eggs & ebay amazon can't sent them to indonesia, so as you can imagine my setup lack many things. Aquaponic is very new in indonesia, and i think i am the only one with big setup in my town. my dream are to provide 60-80% of kitchen need. right now only able to provide 40-50%.

Albert.. as far as questrions go... ask away... this is the best, and most knowledgable aquaponics forum in the world...

As far as net pots, Potassium Bicarbonate, Chel;ated Iron, Dipel etc... BYAP will ship them to you.... (check with them anyway)

thank you Rupert, i have problem with powdery mildew, try bacteria BT, worm casting tea, mollases spray, chilli & pepper spray but nothing work as i expected. right now i brush them with air compressor every other day to control powdery mildew. order pottasium bicarbonate 1 month ago, still waiting the packet. has a praying mantis in tomatoe (only one) but seem it doesn't eat the powdery mildew. try to control the ant from herding the powdery mildew with chalk, fungi, bait. but not as effective. doesn't have lovebird, still tray to germinate some flower to attract them (marigold, fennel). the problem are not big in summer, but now in rainy season the powdery mildew become twice in number.

any potent spray for powdery mildew? or for ants?

Try spraying them with a 9:1 milk mixture... 9 parts water:1 part milk.... make sure it's full cream milk though, not skim milk... (goats milk would work)...

The "cream/fat" allows the mix to stick to the leaves better than skim milk... and (just as the Bicarb).... the milk makes the leaf environment alkaline... dealing with the mildew...

It might take repetitive sprays.. especially during your rainy season.... and humidity... and mildews are always going to be a problem for you most likely...
