Hello everyone! I'm trying this intro again, so hopefully it works this time (I keep posting, and none of my posts ever show up).

I'm new to aquaponics, still researching what I'll need to get and how to do everything. I know my husband and I will have LOTS of questions - and I'll be the one asking them. We are northeast of Dallas and have a good sized plot of land with lots of animals. We would like to start fairly small (small budget) and grow from there. We do have the room to grow, especially if we choose a good location. If there's anyone in the area who would like to advise, mentor and guide a couple of complete newbies starting from scratch, we would certainly be open to the advice!

Thanks everyone, and I hope this message actually posts this time!
Jenn

Thanks everyone!

That would be great CaptainRon. Right now we're still in the very beginning stage. We're looking for a good deal on IBCs. Went to Canton yesterday and were hoping to find some out there, but no such luck, at least not on IBCs. We did (and always do) come home with some stuff, but unfortunately nothing aquaponics related. And fortunately no new animals!

I am in Frisco, and would be happy to give you one of my spare totes, as well as contact info for free food-grade plastic barrels. Just send me a message and we can make the arrangements.

Welcome to the gang!

Thanks again! Shelgeyr, I sent you a PM, but it seems to be stuck in my outbox (or maybe that's just the way this forum works). Captainron, $95 seems like a pretty good deal. I'm sure we'll need several IBCs. I'm getting the idea that one is never enough. :)

Yes...this is the way the forum works. It won't leave your outbox till the recipient reads it.

Sorry, geonjenn, I didn't get the message until today (no fault of the board - I just wasn't logged on), and I've replied.

Thanks!
