Hi all. Went to pick up 2 IBC 's today to start my system. I was going to have four but decided to go small to start out and grow from there, anyway silly me. Found a place 15 minutes away from Bendigo where the guy is selling almost new ones for $80 which I fugured will work out cheaper than traveling to Shepparton and paying $50 after petrol costs etc. anyway when we arrived I found that they are too large to fit in the back of a panelvan. Grrrr. Up close they are so much larger than they look on the web. So it is back tomorrow with a trailor. So I'll post first of my pics then. Lesson to brain. Measure first, collect later Rod |

I've seen some people leave here with some crazy loads on different vehicles and trailers. One of my favourites was a 5000L tank on a 6 x 4 box trailer.. |

Yeah well we did give thought to tying it to the roof with tie downs. That would have been a sight to see |

Ah Rod... I TOLD you you'd need a trailer. You might want to check your sums Rod - cost me about $30 in fuel so I got 4 for $230. 4 for you will be $320 plus fuel and if you're only getting 2 your fuel bill would be considerably lighter than towing a sail like I did. |

You people are so very lucky. If that IBC was here in Canada right now, with water in it, it would be about a 4 foot cubed ice cube ! You might call that filled with very "hard water". |

Thanks "journeyman" I know the figures don't stack up ( much like the IBC's) lol but I'm relying on a neighbor to collect them. So I have to pay fuel for him plus something for his time. So it's not so bad. I have a Laser hatch back which I didn't think they'd fit into. But after reading all the posts maybe I could go Asian style and easily fit four or five?? Btw these have had vegetable oil in so just checking with everyone if that's ok? They will need cleaning out. Is a high pressure wash ok? Or do I need more? Saw somewhere that someone used bleach. Obviously diluted and how much detail do I need to go to here. Obviously this is going to be my fishes home so I realize the environment must be good but how good |

Put an elephant in the back seat to make sure you have the room then remove the elephant and put one IBC there. Lift the hatch and use an ocky strap to hold the other IBC in there. I'd use a mild detergent for oil, then pressure wash then let stand open for a day or so. You need a detergent to get the oil into solution I think. |
