Hi everyone,
I'm part of a small group of people experimenting with aquaponics in Amsterdam. We started building our first system in March of this year and we have learned a lot since. I think most of our systems are done cycling and we're working on getting production up, so - adding more fish and more plants.
This is a graphic I made of the design of our system. We currently have six of them...

We also give workshops so people can learn from our experiences and understand the auto siphon principle etc. I've found that these workshops really brings people with the same interests together, very nice!
The biggest issue we're facing now is the winter. We built an isolation tent and are heating the water with aquarium heaters, but that's not really environmental friendly is it? So we're thinking about new ways of minimizing energy input, or getting it from alternative sources. For me that's quite a complicated subject.
