i have just started to get interested in ap and have read a lot on these forums so far. i have active interests in beer brewing and also have several aquariums at home as well to keep me busy. so far i have not set any thing up yet but am in the planning stages of a simple ibc system so will be lurking around here to hopefully get a good start when it all happens.

well i did it. i set my ibc system up this week exactly the same as the ibc of aquaponics manual.everything looks to be settling in well with a heap of veggies up top and about 20 cichlids i caught on a trip to hazelwood pondage in the bottom filling in space until the weather gets cold and i will move them on and put in some trout. my question is at the moment sould i put some sort of aeration in the ft or will the water movement from the pump be sufficiant? if i should be putting in air has any one got recomendations on a pump setup to suit? thanks in advance dwayne

The aeration from the pump will be sufficient until u have a power outage. Then you will have a HSM. I recommend a backup air system from BYAP. It provides at least 6 hours of air during power outage
