I have had a small aquaponics system going for a while now. 15 gallon reservoir made from a storage tub I got at Walmart and a grow bed that i made from an old rubbermaid tub. It is on a flood and drain cycle with an auto siphon valve. It floods and drains once every 2.5 minutes.

This system has been a great showcase to me about the potential of aquaponics. It is far too small and is very unstable regarding temperature and ph. But I can still grow large plants that will fruit and taste great. I just get some leaf twist and weird deficiencies that come and go, but as I said before... The system grows tasty plants. Currently I just planted lettuce in it for the winter, there is also a single green bean plant and the one with flowers is a small tigger melon plant.

I am just about through the planning process for a bigger system. It will be a 500 gallon indoor dwc system. Lighted with LED lights, with supplemented co2, and a perfectly controlled sealed room environment. I am going to document the build out on YouTube in the coming month. For now, here is the latest picture I have taken of my small system.

Welcome WomackAP! The new planned system sounds expensive. I hated paying for lighting when the sun was shining outside, and LEDs aren't cheap. The CO2 should be unnecessary.

What are you going to use for the fish tank? My brain is fatigued from measuring every container for its AP suitability. :shifty:

What are you planning on growing in the indoor system?
