Post subject:  Newbie starting aquatic plants system

Hi. I am a newbie to the aquaponics area however have kept fresh water aquariums for years.

I am about to start a aquaponics system in Sydney Australia. I was wanting to attempt to grow some aquatic plants to stock my aquarium along with some herbs.

I am wondering what you guys thought would be the best system to start with? Should I do a bell siphon or just have it running all the time to keep the roots wet as they are aquatic plants?

I was thinking of three 55 gallon drums cut in half in a tear formation falling back to the 2x 1000liter tanks with the fish.

Thanks in advance

Continuous flooded would possibly be the simplest and aquatic plants should be happy with that. Simple standpipe works well.
