Post subject:  Hello from BUlgaria

My family & I am currently going through the torment of applying for European grants to set up an aquaponics farm & carp lake in Bulgaria.
As far as I can find out, we will be the first commercial aquaponics farm here (if all goes well). As we are looking at this taking at least another year, we want to start the aquaponics in our garden to see how it runs here and to attempt to iron out any major issues.

The main problems we expect will be the severe winters we have here as daytime temperatures can drop to as low as -28C so we will have to figure out a way of keeping the water temperature at a reasonable level.

We have done quite a bit of research and will now use the coming winter months to build a small system ready to commence in the spring. We hope to run experiments to see ehat will be needed to keep a system running in the winter BEFORE we risk any actual fish.

Any practical advise would be most gratefully received.

Thank you

Sharon
