have Spelt wheat in the new bed (guess which one that is) we put about a dosen grains in it to begin with just to see what it would do, when they reached about 3 inches i sowed it like i would in the ground and they are germinating well, theres barley in the other side of it but seems to sprout and die (just can't get anything good from a supermarket these days)

the pics of the yard are a few weeks old but the ones of the aquaponics are from this morning.
There are 3 or 4 cucumbers on the one in the aquaponics and a few more in the ground, we let one of our cos go to seed 6 months ago and are now finding it in the front yard aswell as everywhere else

I love the fact that most of your yard is for vegies! If i could, mine would look similar.

Awesome stuff guys, and great meeting you.

Nice work guys... Don't you just love Perth sand, it's a battle growing in sterile sand....

we built the house and are on about 2M of fill which makes the whole gardening thing a bit fun, lots of sheep, cow, etc. to give the ground some nutrients.

the silver thingo is actually a 4 way tap adaptor feeding the 3 blue barrels and the wooden pillar box (made from leftover floorboards lined with builders plastic, never again!)

the black box with the orange float is a stock trough auto filler that i have tapped into the retic, makes for hoseless filling YAY :thumbright:

the barrels drain through a standpipe into a 40mm adaptor down to a 25mm poly pipe for the return (wanted to be able to move them if i see a need).

Is that stainless steel?

i think it's brass, it's a holman 4 way tap adaptor that i picked up from a rather large hardware chain with green buildings.

Maybe have a search on the forum about brass.

As the water becomes slightly acidic it will start corroding the brass and accumulating in your fishes flesh. Or so the story goes.
