Hi All I've just moved to country Vic and I'm wanting to become a bit more self sufficient. Obviously the idea of aquaponics caught my eye so thought I'd join the conversations. Is anyone else new to all of this? I have no idea where to start!

Read all the basic information to get the ball rolling that formulates questions then just search for threads that cover the same topic.

Welcome, I just getting my material together for my first system. Check your local area for any food grade IBC tanks available as well as good blue barrels and bathtubs. Your local paper and Redgum site may also be able to help source material.

Then just keep reading, learning and asking questions.

Wow thanks guys for replying sounds like I'm going to learn a lot by reading all the posts. We moved to Genoa mid last year to a small hobby farm. I'm trying to get back to basics so to speak and teach my kids how to grow and make things etc.. I found the ebook really helpful and i'm still making my way through all of the different topics to get ideas. Will keep you posted with any questions I may have :-) till next time...

Also, study, but don't get stuck in analysis paralysis. Get a small system together quickly, so you can get some hands on experience. Then.... Expand!

The you tube video of Faye setting up an IBC system is also very helpful.
If I can do it, believe me, you can too!!
