Hi all

My system has been up and running for 3 weeks now and going according to plan ( I think)

FT 2000 liters
2 x 500 liters with hydration
2 x 150 liters each sponge light and zeolite

It's on constant flood now but will be going to flood and drain when finished cycling.

Stock

30 x Silver Perch fingerlings ( three weeks ago)
10 x Silver perch about 6 months old (two weeks ago)
3 x gold fish about 100 mm ( three weeks ago)
1 x water lily

Water conditions

19 March

Ph 8.00
Amm 0.25
Nitrites 5
Nitrates 5

26 March

Ph 8.2
Amm 0.25
Nitrites 5
Nitrates 2.5

Water is clear with algae on sides and bottom of FT

Plants

Some seedlings put in 3 weeks ago and seeds also three weeks ago. Have some small catapillars now eating some of the lettuce leaves.

Stopped finding fish a week ago when nitrates were 5

No fish loss to date and all feeding well and swimming around happily, no surface breathing and very little flashing if any.

Questions

1/ should I feed the fish as ammonia is low, worried about nitrites.

2/ what can I spray on the lettuce to get rid of the bugs, have tried picking them off but they are very small.

3/ can I use season as there is some yellowing of some of the seedlings leaves, but that this might elevate the nitrites more.

That black thing above the WT is an auto fish feeder, it's off at the moment

Looks good, zeolite not good probably remove it when you get a chance, it binds the ammonia
