Post subject:  Seeks info re: home cultivation of edible seaweed

Hello,
Seaweed can be quite a good source of minerals and other nutrients. Even though I live less than three hours away from the ocean, fresh seaweed is exorbitantly expensive to buy from my local food stores [the few that have it]. So I've been wondering about the possibility of growing my own. Dried seaweed powders of various sorts are available, but I'd much prefer to consume it fresh.

Does anyone know if seaweed can be grown in indoor saltwater aquariums?

I'm very new to the science/technique as well as the terminology of aquaponics. Please pardon my ignorance. Can someone tell me the difference between hydroponics and aquaponics?

Thanks,
blur

Can't help you with the seaweed question, but I can tell you what aquaponics is in a nutshell. Soilless growing of plants fed by the nutrient rich fish water. You can grow your fish and eat them to.
Welcone to the world if aquaponics blurwheels. Once here, you never leave.
