Hello, all. I'm beginning construction this week on a small greenhouse for a pilot project raising tilapia and herbs in Tulsa. I plan to use an IBC container (approx. 300 gallons) for the fish. If all goes well, this could become a commercial venture, but all I'm counting on is being able to provide healthier food for my family. I know I have challenges ahead, considering Tulsa has been known to dip below zero F in the winter, and over 110 in the summer. Heating and cooling are going to be my biggest challenges, especially sometimes I'll have to heat one week and cool the next. Any suggestions are welcome! -John Boston Tulsa, OK |

John, dig deep and put your fish container way down in dirt for temp control, otherwise you end up with dead fish due to hot water during August time frame. I spent 4 years of my life in Oklahoma, it sure can get hot. Swimming pool water was about 90 degrees. |
