| Post subject: | IBC experiment |
Hi all, This is my IBC system with added on growbed. It's a bit of an experiment, I tend to be a bit of a tinkerer. If I get lots of other things done first, i'm going to control it with a small plc. The IBC section uses an auto syphon which is fed from the black growbed which is continually flooded. Currently it runs about 8 - 10 hours a day, which i think might be a bit much, but the water has stayed crystal clear. There is a 2000l an hour pump which moves alot of water but allows me to keep aerating the water. Currently most of the plants are in there just to absorb the nutrients while the winter crops start to take off. There are 21 goldfish in about 450 litres of water. Does anyone have a green house on the NSW east coast, haven't found anyone on the site yet. Want to check out the pros and cons and get a 1000 -1500 litre system going. Will up load some photos when cleared. Good to meet you all. |

Hi Sned Would be great to see some pics : ) The sytem I built sounds similar to what you are trying to achieve. A greenhouse works well for me in Wollongong. It gets pretty cold down here but with the greenhouse my water temps generally stay above 16 degrees. The Silver Perch still feed enough at that temp to keep things ticking along. Looking forward to your system build. |

You had loaded them into a personal album Sned. What you need to do is when you open up a post - look under the text box in the next section titled "Upload attachment" - click "browse" and find your image and select it, then click "Add the file" and it will take a moment to load into your post, you can repeat this another 2 times for a total of 3 images. When you have done this hit the "submit" button under the text box when you are done typing a message and all your images will load in with your post. Ill get these ones for you Attachment: s1.jpg [ 215.29 KiB | Viewed 1760 times ] Attachment: s2.jpg [ 130.93 KiB | Viewed 1760 times ] Attachment: s3.jpg [ 229.93 KiB | Viewed 1760 times ] |
